A true immersion into Syrian life
Une fois n’est pas coutume, je laisse un avis pour partager l’aventure exceptionnelle que nous avons vécue avec Syrian Guides, et en particulier avec Bashar, qui nous a accompagnés pendant ces 10 jours.
Le bon déroulement du tour a commencé dès notre arrivée à Damas, où nous avons été parfaitement accueillis — ce qui nous a immédiatement rassurés, s’il était encore besoin, quant à la qualité de l’organisation.
La Syrie a tant à offrir. Les habitants sont d’une générosité absolue, et ce tour, très complet, permet d’avoir une véritable vision de ce magnifique pays : ses sites historiques, les ses différentes communautés que l’on rencontre tout au long du voyage, les conséquences de la guerre civile.. mais aussi sa géniale gastronomie, qui a été pour nous une très belle surprise ! Si je dois souligner un véritable plus du “tour”, c’est l’incroyable diversité des lieux et rencontres qui sont organisés et qui nous permettent d’avoir la meilleure expérience. Idem pour les hôtels et restaurants qui ont été au delà de mes espérances.
Un immense merci à Bashar, un guide passionné et extrêmement cultivé, qui saura, j’en suis certain, vous transmettre sans tabou aussi bien les racines historiques du pays que ses réalités actuelles. Sans compter qu’il est bilingue en anglais et en français ! Merci encore 🙏
En résumé : si vous envisagez de voyager en Syrie, je ne peux que vous recommander de passer par cette agence qui vous permettra sincèrement d’en faire un voyage inoubliable !

Easily my new favorite country! I cannot possibly recommend Syria through Bashar more than I do
I just finished a one week tour of Syria with Bashar and Adbullah. Easy to say it was the greatest trip of my life and Syria is my new favorite country.
Bashar was so knowledgeable of not just the amazing ancient history of every city we visited, but also was very well informed of religious history for both Christianity and Islam.
Not only that, but his experiences living in this beautiful country informed me on the current events in the area and kept me safe in a country that many back home warned me not to visit. Not one time did I ever feel even the slightest sense of unease. Bashar went above and beyond multiple times, especially when I made a mistake with my drone.
I will be forever thankful to these two for making Syria a welcoming, accessible, and safe place to visit. Nietzsche would be proud!

Discovering Syria: History, Warmth, and Pure Magic
I travelled to Syria on a 10-day tour in November 2025, and honestly, it’s hard to put into words how extraordinary the whole experience was. Everything was organized perfectly from start to finish—every preference, every little wish, every detail was taken into account.If you get Bashar, consider yourself incredibly lucky—you’ve basically won the tour-guide lottery 🙂 His knowledge of history, culture, politics, and geopolitics is exceptional. He has endless energy, a great sense of humor, and a real gift for explaining and connecting things in a way that makes everything come alive. He was attentive, professional, and genuinely made every single day feel special. I honestly can’t imagine a better guide.He kept joking that there’s still so much more to see and that we need at least a month next time 🙂 Palmyra, Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, Arwad Island, Maaloula, Bosra, and of course the magical Damascus… the history, the ancient heritage, the culture, the living traditions—absolutely mind-blowing. And the food, wow. Always abundant, usually in small family-run places, and honestly impossible to stop eating. The Aleppo soap I bought is still filling my home with its beautiful scent, and the za’atar I brought back has ended up on nearly everything I cook. The castles, fortresses, and archaeological sites were unforgettable, but what stayed with me even more was the warmth and hospitality of the Syrian people.

Superb and safe tour of Syria with Bashar

Fantastic tour with Bashar around Syria. Experience was seamless from pickup in Amman to drop off, hotels, transportation, restaurants everything was flawless.
Bashar is a fantastic guide; you can see his passion for his country and his great knowledge. We had wonderful conversations throughout the days and left as good friends.
I also particularly appreciated his help when we went carpet shopping, trying a few different stores to help us find high quality goods for a good price. It did not feel like we were being brought to his friend’s shop at all.
As far as security goes, we didn’t feel unsafe at any point, Bashar was very diligent in keeping up to date with the latest developments, even if that meant adjusting our route on the go. Generally speaking we felt perfectly safe in Syria, there seemed to be 0 interest for us at checkpoints or when running into security forces. we walked around Damascus at night without any issue.
Syria is a fascinating country with a rich history, kind & welcoming people, great food, and superb crafts. Highly recommend going there.

One of the most special trips of my life so far
Bashar as our guide gave real in-depth knowledge rather than just general surface-level tour guide stories. He has worked as an interpreter for the parliament, and besides Syria’s history, he knows a lot on the socio-political situation of the region. As a polyglot, he can explain everything in a set of different languages such as English and French. I learned a lot from him about the context of the region. meeting locals, hearing their stories and directly supporting small businesses made this trip very meaningful. Syria tends to attract people who want to look beyond the headlines, often independent solo travelers like myself. Choosing a group tour can feel like an unusual decision for that type of traveler. But what made this journey so special, is what group travel does best: create connection.Despite being total strangers to one another at first, after eight days it felt like traveling with old friends. Everyone shared the same curiosity and appreciation for the incredible beauty, history, culture and heritage of Syria, which remains largely overlooked in the travel industry. Safety is naturally a recurring subject when planning a trip to Syria.
